Post Reading Edgar Allan Poe
Friends,
Yesterday evening a group of poets, Poe fans, and, many simply listening audience, got together. We read Poe's works, passing the book from one reader to the next (along with a tiny flashlight). The event took place in a local cafe, lit with candles which provided a special eerie atmosphere. We had a wonderful time of it! I pass this along to encourage a similar activity in towns where you folks live. And, yes. We plan to do this again with Shakespeare, Dickens, and others.
Perhaps for the more bawdy amongst us we'll do a 'Bukowski' night! (smiles)

Peace,
Bud[/b][/i]

That sounds like fun. In our entire town I could maybe get 3 people to do it.

Louisa,
Pity you cannot garner more interest in your town. The social aspect of the readings is as enjoyable as the poetry!
The cafe owners, both gourmet chefs, prepared ghoulish treats for the evening: Witch Fingers (long and green with slivered almond for finger nails) Monster Eyeballs (a delectable concoction of chocolate truffles) among others.
Oh! They melt in your mouth. But, first you must get them past your eyes! lol

Think I would have been on a diet that night.

I should be on a diet, Louisa. Hanging out at the Cafe is not good for my waistline!
I just recieved a community email notice of our up coming 'Quiet Festival' here in Ocean City, NJ.
The events include but are not limited to: yawn alongs, pin dropping, wind chimes band, sea shell listening (my favorite) and much more. The organization that spawned all this and more? What else? 'N.A.P.' The National Association of Tired People. If you are ever east, I mean all the way, with your toes touching the Atlantic, the 'Quiet Festival' is worth joining.

Smiles,
Bud

hey Bud, I'm "east" but also a bit more south (in Daytona Beach, Florida) and the National Association of Tired People would find MANY MANY people where I work to join their ranks..

That all sounds like fun.. The "Yawn alongs" I'm practicing right now.. I've always found sea shell music too simular, like Rap music in that way.. hear one sea shell you've heard them all..

Take care up in Jersey..
